Moldy Raspberry Calcite - Pink Calcite with Mesolite from Madhya Pradesh, India

Moldy Raspberry is the name for a pink/red Calcite that is produced in Madhya Pradesh, India. We did not name this material. The pink is due to an unconfirmed mineral inclusion, but likely Hematite.

Some of the specimens feature Mesolite, others just have Calcite. This material became wildly popular years ago. We first carried this when the original pocket was found. We have acquired many pockets of this material since. It is constantly producing, but the quality varies. Unfortunately there are commonly fake specimens of this material with pieces from different specimens being glued together. Be careful when shopping for this material as they are actively manufacturing fakes in India.
