"Fire Blossom" Red Thomsonite with Scolecite and Calcite from a water well in Aurangabad, India
THOMSONITE WITH SCOLECITE AND CALCITE
This is a unique find of Thomsonite with Scolecite and Calcite. It was discovered in a water well. This was mined in January 2026. We named the pocket "Fire Blossoms." Some of the specimens also have Heulandite, but not all. There is a UV reaction and phosphorescence due to the Calcite.
The Thomsonite is red due to Hematite inclusions. The Scolecite has white Calcite growth on it, and the pieces have a UV reaction with strong phosphorescence due to the Calcite. This was found inside of a waterwell. Many of our unique finds come from Waterwells. We have a video of the pocket inside of the waterwell, for inquiring minds that would want to see this in the pocket prior to extraction.
